The product is somewhat sturdy even without being mounted to a rack (im not going to play without mounting it, but its a good test of balance). I wish the baseplate was more easily collapsible, but i guess thats the tradeoff for stability. The pull motion is extremely smooth. The tension adjustment is convenient, unlike others where I have to turn the adjustment wheel for what seems like forever. The pedal often gets criticized for being too thin, but for my size 9 (mens) foot, its more than enough pedal. The clutch that comes with the stand is great as it will not scar your pull rod. The height of the stand is much taller than i even need, although I am only 5"6'. Not only is it a great functioning stand, but the look of the stand is very sleek and appealing.
