Nowosad Seeks Masters of Music in New York Jazz

Jazz drummer Curtis Nowosad is heading to New York City to hone his craft. The Canadian will leave Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he is a bit of a celebrity, to work on his masters degree as a fellow of the Manhattan School of Music jazz institute. Winnipeg Free Press reports that Curtis was accepted into six schools, including Julliard, but the jazz institute awarded him a full scholarship so that is where he decided to go. He joins plenty of other Winnipeg musicians in New York City and hopes to gain a greater understanding of New York’s jazz scene while he’s there. Read more here: Big Apple lures talented young drummer
