Description

Shaman Drum that is 30" x 2.25" with mulberry frame and a tunable goatskin head. Two rawhide straps cross in the back to give support to the frame, and can be used to steady the drum. The 8 tuning mechanisms are mounted on the inside of the frame for a clean look. This 30" drum has a deep resonating voice. Great for drum circles or healing ceremonies; play with other instruments or by itself. Order includes leather beater. Actual weight is only about 4 pounds. Due to its size it ships in a 30 pound box.

    I have purchased this drum twice for myself and once for my sister- it's an incredibly impressive sound while still being quite playable. The 38" is even deeper and stronger, but much less comfortable to hold and play. I toured and used this drum on the road for 4 years, which has resulted in damage to the head that I've patched effectively a few times. I just purchased a new one so I can keep one safe at home while my beat up drum travels with me. Be sure not to keep it too tight in changing weather! For the price I think it's a pretty amazing product.
