Due to the high tension that are put on djembe ropes, it's essential that your djembe drum has good quality rope that is quite thick and also low stretch.

Top end djembes are typically strung with 5mm thick ropes for extra durability and performance enhancement.

Rope Options:
Low Stretch Alpine Nylon HTB 5 mm
Low Stretch Alpine Nylon HTB 4 mm
Low Stretch Alpine Nylon PP 5 mm
Low Stretch Alpine Nylon PP 4 mm

** Both HTB and PP are low stretch Alpine Nylon rope, however HTB is a better quality rope than PP.

Amount of rope needed:
13-14" Head: approximately 85-95'
10-12" Head: approximately 70-80'
