Artist Profile: Mitch Marine
The world of music is full of a vast array of genres, artists, instruments and, above all, passion. The passion for creative expression drives many a musician to great heights, and usually, these amazing artists know from a young age that music is a chosen calling. Mitch Marine is one of those artists. A drummer who has played with bands like Smash Mouth and Tripping Daisy, Marine began drumming in eighth grade and has been a non-stop force of rhythm ever since.
As the current drummer for Dwight Yoakam, Mitch Marine calls Los Angeles his home, where he plays, writes and produces music. He is an established country rock drummer, bridging the gap between the two styles of music with his upbeat rhythm and stylish flair. His favorite brand of cymbals is Sabian, a company that he respects and values for their commitment to the artists and unsurpassed cymbal craftsmanship.
Marine’s Sabian cymbals include 15" HHX Groove Hats, a 19" HHX X-Plosion Crash, a 21” HH Raw Bell Dry Ride and a 19” AAX X-Plosion Fast Crash. Combined with his drums and absolute love of drumming, Mitch Marine is an indelible part of the professional drumming landscape. From his studies as a jazz drummer in Texas to his permanence in the world of country-rock crossover music, Mitch Marine keeps on following his passion for music, rhythm and drumming, bringing a style and presence to the world of drumming.
