Pakmoon (honeymoon) is a handpan scale written and named by the famous Chinese handpan player ‘He Boman’ and named after his English name. This scale is very rare and unique thus making it a true treasure.
The scale name "Pakmoon" means "Honeymoon”. The inspiration for "honeymoon" was the deep blue sea and wonderous blue sky he saw in the holy land of Honeymoon in Hawaii. The translation goes: ‘The idea of a "Honeymoon" can make people feel a certain sweet and romantic feeling: the setting sun is fading, you’re lying on a beach chair by the sea with a loved one, looking at the sea and sky in the distance. The breeze comes slowly, and the coconut trees in the banana forest on the shore sang softly, and the coconuts fragrant and sweet.’
"Honeymoon" is a major scale, which can be considered as E major. It has an ideal overtone column setting and scale layout, which can best stimulate the natural resonance and echo of the tone scale. There is a pure fourth jump in the mode scale, that is, the strong progression from the dominant to the tonic, giving this scale a brighter major color. "Honeymoon" gives us the feeling of happiness and joy, with a beautiful and coherent melody, which is often used in the creation of popular and modern music. This scale is suitable for solo playing as well as improvisation and overall accompaniment. It is known to be easier to learn than other scales.
