The Kopf Percussion DeUno design is all about tone and resonance. This DeUno is constructed from the highest quality Baltic Birch plywood available. The "shell" walls are crafted from 1" thick Baltic birch providing a very strong structure.

This cajon features Dual 1/8" Playing Surfaces that are glued on completely around the bearing edge. This gives the drum its amazing resonance and overtones. One of the playing surfaces has 4 non-adjustable snares and the other has no snares for a natural Peruvian tone. A delicate hand rubbed semi-gloss finish provides protection while allowing the drums beautiful tones to shine through.

4 steel reinforced rubber feet are attached to the bottom providing a stable slip free footing. Then a thick 1/2" foam rubber seat with a polyester top is attached to the top of the drum for comfort and stability.

All Kopf Percussion cajons are handcrafted in the USA.

    Excellent quality and resonates wonderfully.

This is my first cajon. I looked for over a month, playing some at the local music store and viewing videos online. One of the biggest selling points for me was that it's made in the United States and got great reviews online and from some of the x8drums staff. My first impression was that it's made really well. Feels sturdier and thicker than others I've tried. The seat pad is comfortable and appears that it will last. This cajon resonates and sounds better than any I have played. I am extremely happy with the tones I get from this drum. I should note that you have to hit the top of the cajon with a considerable amount more force to get a good snare sound. When I play lightly it can hardly be heard. But I knew this going in and value the resonance and good bass tone more. Overall I'm happy with it so far and would recommend any Kopf percussion product. Thanks X8!

    Boom

I've been playing an LP Aspire for the past couple of years, which is a decent cajon for the money. But even with a Cajon Port in place, it still lacked a certain degree of thump on the low end.

After a bit of research, it seemed like this Kopf model had a lot of positive reviews - most of which included a decent bass response. So I decided to take a shot on ordering one without ever having actually played it.

It worked out. This thing is fantastic! The bass is pretty ridiculous for a standard sized box. And the two different playing surfaces are great too. If I want to have a more traditional sound (or a clean palate to play with brushes) I can. But if the next song calls for more of a kit sound - I just do a quick flip and I'm in business. The snare is fixed, but it's got a good response and just enough sizzle.

I heartily recommend this Kopf cajon to anyone who wants a solid instrument at a solid price. It's well constructed, sounds great and it's a joy to play. Buy one!
