  1. Some are better than others

Posted by Alisha Ross on 30th Jun 2015

I bought the lemon, apple, and orange shakers at various times to use in my drum circle facilitation. For some reason, the orange cracked right away (it wasn't even used, it was just in the percussion box with some other shakers), and the apple doesn't sound like it has that many beads in it - it doesn't make a sound that can be heard when drums are playing. The lemon is slightly better and seems to be a little more hearty than the others in terms of sound and ability to stay intact. Time will tell! P.S. It's possible you don't want to use these when working with memory care populations. Some fruits looks more "real" than others, and people may think they are real fruit and be confused (it does happen with that population). While not really a choking hazard, it's something to consider when disinfecting your instruments.
