The Gon Bops Difference
All Gon Bops Bongo Drums feature a compact, low-profile design, making them comfortable to hold and a pleasure to play. Using the same solid-stave construction as California Series Bongos, these traditional Cuban drums sing with world-class tone!
Gon Bops offers more choice than any other manufacturer.
More choice of Wood "ê air-dried Appalachian Red Oak, North American Ash, Durian and Parawood "ê and more choice of Heads "ê Cowhide, Water Buffalo, Fiberskyn, Nuskyn or Skyndeep.
TIGHT PROFILE HARDWARE
Gon Bops exclusive design means ergonomically smart drums that are easy on the legs when played traditionally between the knees.
BOTTOM RING DESIGN
Smart Gon Bops Bottom Ring design eliminates need for cup washers "ê preventing nut from binding and allowing for extended tuning range and longer hardware life.
PRO-SIZE FOR ALL LEVELS
All Gon Bops Bongo drums, including entry level Fiesta series, are professional-size 7" Macho and 8.5" Hembra drums.
Unfortunately, I am sending the "Fiesta" bongos back to x8, due to a hairline crack near the seam of a stave, at the bottom of the "Macho" drum. The sound that I got out those bongos was emense, with loud projection. It is soley due to how "Gon Bops" construct their drums, in the old Cuban style of design and craftsmanship.Unfortunatley, the "Parawood" used, which is mature rubber tree wood, and is not the most stable wood for drum construction, but they sound "Mucho fantastico" for the price.I do highly recommend all "Gon Bops" products to all Bongoceros out there, enthusiast or professional.Gon Bops are the best and most sought after.Your fellow "Bongocero" and soul drummer, Martin B.Oh, and by the way I am upgrading to a pair of Gon Bops "Mariano's Bongos".Thank you x8.
