Wireless Microphones and Federal Compliance
Wireless microphones can be seen in many different venues, from entertainment to educational and beyond. As technology has improved, the range of these microphones has continued to grow, leading the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to limit the use of these devices by public consumers. According to the FCC, 700 MHz Band was banned in January 2010, and use of in the 700 MHz Band devices was prohibited as of June 12, 2010. This ban on devices allows public safety organizations such as police departments, fire and rescue departments and emergency services to use these devices without public interference.
