Seeds of Culture Spring up in Philly
A summer camp idea has evolved into a cultural center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philly.com recently reported on Al Bustan Seeds of Culture, an organization that offers educational programs for all ages, has a professional residency series with international artists, and keeps a resident ensemble of Arab musicians. It is a unique program in the United States that is dedicated to exposing the city to various elements of the Arab culture. Founded ten years ago, Al Bustan still offers summer camps and now brings Arab language and music to the Philadelphia school district, as well. All of the organization’s money goes to programming.
