No Music Therapy Certifications in Arizona

Citing an inability to pull certifications and impose fines, the recent music therapy bill in Arizona was vetoed by the governor. StamfordAdvocate.com reports that Governor Jan Brewer felt Senate Bill 1437 did not have enough protective measures to meet "basic oversight authority." These measures would include the ability to revoke music therapist certifications and fine music therapists, as well as require mandatory background investigations for therapists.
