If you’re deep in the drumming world, you’ve probably heard of a little something called Musikmesse. Held each Spring in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Musikmesse is one of the two biggest fairs for musical instruments and music production and marketing. In fact, the fair has been the top meeting place for the musical instrument industry for almost 30 years.

During the four-day fair, musical instrument manufacturers and dealers and musicians of all levels from all over the world check out the latest musical instruments, equipment, hardware, and software. It’s also where the coolest and quirkiest products and innovations in the musical instrument industry are presented to the world.

Didn’t get a chance to make it to the fair? Each year, MusicRadar covers the event and, lucky for us, hunts down the coolest, craziest, and most unique drum products. According to the top musician-run website for guitarists, drummers, and producers, Musikmesse 2014 was extra rich with cool, quirky products this year. From a faux crocodile skin-finished drum kit to an innovative drum key equipped with a light for adjusting your hardware on dark stages and a bottle opener for that after-show beer, this year’s Musikmesse was one for the books.
