Music Therapy Gains Backing in Indiana

As research continues to provide evidence that music can provide a wide range of benefits for people facing neurological disorders, the field of music therapy is continuing to find recognition within traditional and alternative therapeutic settings. The Associated Press reports that a recent bill, backed by Indiana state Rep. Suzanne Crouch, R-Evansville, is advancing through the Indiana general assembly. This bill would create a state board to allow the certification of music therapists and provide treatment to patients with disorders such as autism and Alzheimer’s.
