From Family Act to Solo Artist, Drummer Finds Success in Rhythm
Isabelle de Leon decided at age seven that she would play the drums. She started playing piano at age four and after hearing a comment in the movie “Selena” about how girls don’t play the drums, Isabelle has worked at proving the sentiment false. As a music major, the senior at the University of Maryland has had success, selling out her recent show at the Strathmore Mansion. She has been performing with her family band since childhood and is now venturing out as a solo act. The Diamondback reports that Isabelle is on the pre-med track in addition to music.
