Fragile, Drum with Care!

Drums have been made from various materials throughout history, from trees and animal skin to pottery, crates, drawers and more. As manufacturing techniques have evolved and different materials have become easier to acquire, the artistry of drum making has taken on a life of its own. A typical drum set is usually fashioned from layers of wood with synthetic drum heads and metal hardware, but, even that is changing. According to DrummerCafe, the Nolan Page Drum Company has recently released a snare drum that is made entirely from crystal, with a unique aluminum frame and patented Hardware Mounting System.
