Though commonly found in music from Brazil and other South American countries, Meinl's Berimbau is a traditional African instrument featuring a thin striker and a caxixi, which are held in the right hand while the left hand supports the bow and attunes the string with a small red disc. The Berimbau's unique "wah-wah"Ν sound is created by moving the whole instrument off-and-on the abdomen to open and close the resonant gourd. Meinl's Berimbau is made of premium fiberglass and features a striking red finish.
