Kopf S-Series Slaptop Cajon
The Slaptop Snare Cajon from Kopf Percussion features dual playing surfaces, one with a snare effect and one with no snare. The front and rear plates are glued on with the tops adjustable with screws. This tapa configuration blends the Kopf DeUno Cajon's overtones with the Kopf Snare Cajon's crisp slaps. If you want the best of both worlds, this is the best cajon.
All Kopf S-Series Cajones have a very fine hand rubbed clear satin finish that allows the wood's natural overtones to come through. All Kopf shells are constructed from solid poplar and the tapas are made of the best baltic birch available.
Everything is handcrafted in the USA, right down to the custom 2" thick upholstered seat on the top of the drum.

A great cajon!

I have been a drummer for over 40 years. Played full sets, congas, bongoes, tympani, and a wide variety of other percussion instruments...most recently the cajon. After using a friends withs a small group for a few months , I fell in love with it! So the search began. And after trying all I could find, all I could listen to or read about on the web, I went with the Kopf Slaptop and I couldn't be more pleased.
Fellow band members were also impressed by the great sounds available on the dual sides.
Great workmanship, and great service from X8!
Great sounds from a work of art

I'm very happy with both the sound and the finish of this instrument. The thin birch playing sides are very resonant and offer a huge dynamic range with great bass, pop on top, and slap at the corners. Having two playing sides (one with snare and one without) gives me a huge range of sound options. The snare side doesn't quite reach the bass tones of the non-snare side, but the snare side has a unique quality that works with a lot of music, and they both sound great. The densely padded top makes it very comfortable for long sessions, This is an impressive instrument.
