X8 Drums 10" Red Black Djembe
The Red and Black Djembe features a two tone contrast of red and black stripes offering a bit of attitude. Master carvers have paid special attention to the detailing of this drum to provide a unique rough texture. Authentic goatskin heads are secured with low-stretch Alpine Nylon HTB 5mm rope runners. We recommend this drum for intermediate to advanced players.
We take great pride that our djembe drums are environmentally friendly. Each drum is made from legally harvested/Government inspected and certified Mahogany.
Please note that each drum is hand-carved, by master carvers, and sizes will tend to slightly fluctuate. No two drums are exactly alike which makes each one a unique work of art.

Excellent Product & Service

The product was expertly carved (I own a different Djembe from a local vendor as reference).
Detailed care/maintainance instructions were provided, and I was promptly impressed not only with the expedited shipping (I received the product 2-3 days after placing the order) but I was also pleased with the amount of wrapping and protective shipping material.
I would highly recomment X8 an all its subsequent products.
Can't beat the sound for the money.

Never heard a mini-djembe that sounded this good before; didn't think it was possible. Superior quality construction. Excellent value. Got this thing to practice sabar and kutiro rhythms on since I cannot get those drums, and I'm satisfied with the drum for this purpose. Gotta work on dampening the _amazing_ sound though as it is _too_ powerful for this purpose, except maybe for lead. As far as playing it with two hands, I find myself playing it more doumbek-style. I have a difficult time djembe-style with my large hands on the little head. I find that I have to hit almost directly on the rim to get any kind of tone/slap. Don't expect to be able to play this like a full-size djembe unless your hands are tiny (small kids).

We are using this drum in a Boys & Girls Club for Elementary School age children. We are exposing them to music through percussion instruments. This Djembe is excellent for our purposes. Inexpensive but with a sensitive enough head to get tone variation.
