Watch a demonstration of this Meinl Trejon
Note: The video demonstration above is of Meinl's 2009 model that had a single adjustable snare. The 2009 model has been discontinued. The new, 2010 model has the same dimensions but features 2 removable snares offering more flexibility for the player. The new model is the product being offered on this page.
Meinl's Trejon is a revolution in cajon design. The trejon outperforms its competitors by offering a wide range of sounds, similar to that of a drum set, yet in a much smaller hand drum. There are three separate performance areas in order to create three different sounds.
From an aesthetic standpoint, the ebony faceplate is a beautiful work of art. The resonating body is made from eco-friendly rubber wood, harvested from a sustainable rubber wood forest, which means you can feel good about the materials going in to the creation of your instrument.
You couldn't ask for more customization of sound than you get with the trejon. Meinl has packed two independent snares (upper right corner, upper left corner) that can be played simultaneously. Or if you’d like to create that bass, snare, tom effect remove one of the snares. Meinl makes it easy to remove the snares so you can customize your sound. The opportunities for experimentation are endless. When looking for a truly unique instrument, use the trejon, combining traditional flamenco sound with contemporary options.
Meinl puts your comfort first. With an angled frontplate, making the drum face easier to play on, you’ll want to play for hours. And with the padded seat, you’ll be able to! For even greater convenience, the trejon's rubber footing allows you to play on any floor surface without fear of damaging the underside of your drum. With all the practice you’ll be looking forward to, you’ll be playing like the Gipsy Kings in no time.
