Note that in this demo, the snare is in the OFF position.
With the unlikely and unique use of Cherry Wood as a frontplate and Red Wood Oak comprising the resonating body, your sound will be as unique as the instrument you use. This cajon marks the first use of Cherry Wood and Red Oak Wood in cajon manufacturing, making this already fantastic drum even more special.
With a padded sitting surface and rubber footing at the bottom of the cajon, this Meinl drum is sure to create a more comfortable performance cajon, encouraging you to practice longer, until you are as skilled as cajon artist Stephen Maass.
Sound customization is one of the primary reasons to make Meinl Collection Cajons your cajon favorite. The adjustable top corners of the drum control the amount of crash heard, with tightened and loosened screws regulating the effect; tightened screws are milder, loosened screws are stronger.
Additionally, Meinl's use of a full set of snare wires in the interior body of the drum, which are accessed from the knurled finger knob on the side of the body, creates a unique sound everytime. Use the precision and sensitivity of the finger knob in order to emulate cajon musicians like Paco de Lucia and Alejandro Sanz.
