| The Carbon Finish Snare Cajon is one of Meinl's more innovative cajons. By using a fiberglass frontplate, a material that is not commonly used in cajons, Meinl achieves a sound unique to their combination of frontplate and resonating body. The resonating body is made of rubber wood.

Meinl’s innovation continues in the design of the Carbon Finish Snare Cajon with the inclusion of a full set of snare wires in the body of the drum. These snares touch the frontplate and vibrate as the drum is played, creating a traditional flamenco sound. The amount of snare can be regulated using the knurled finger knob on the drum’s body, adjusting the pressure attaching the snare wires to the frontplate. The change in rattle can change the tone of the instrument. Should you choose, you can even turn off the snare completely.
The Carbon Finish Snare Cajon has a padded seat, which offers you comfort during long practice sessions, and encourages you to work harder and longer. Additionally, the rubber footing on the bottom of the drum is designed with protection in mind, allowing you to travel with your cajon without fear of surface damage to the underside of the hand drum. Before long, you’ll be as talented as cajon artists like Alejandro Sanz, Paco de Lucia, Stephen Maass and Tyrone Wells.
