With the adjustable top corners, drummers are able to adjust the amount of crash in their perforances by tightening or loosening the screws. If you want a pronounced crash effect, loosen your screws; for a more mild feel, try tightening them.
Another customization option is controlled by the knurled finger knob on the side of the drum. Meinl snare cajons feature a full set of snare wires in the interior of the body, which drummers can adjust using the knurled finger knob.
