With a comfortable design that brings the strike surface closer to the player for a more upright playing style, this conceptual drum from the forward-thinking minds at Meinl certainly doesn’t look like your father’s cajon. And while it’s the unique look that catches your eye initially, it’s the crisp, clean sound and musical versatility that seals the deal for drummers of all skill levels.

Unlike the traditional cajon where the player sits on top and pitches their body forward to play, the Slap Top cajon rests comfortably between your knees for a more natural and more comfortable playing experience that’s easier on your body and back when playing extended sets or for longer periods of time. The sound port is strategically located in front so the sound is projected out from the drum and toward the audience. High and low tones, as well as the signature snare effect, are built into the sound board of this specialty cajon.

The highly resonant drum body is nicely crafted of eco-friendly, medium density fiberboard and features a distinctive Makah Burl front plate on the top. Different strike points offer up different tones and beats to give you a wider sound spectrum no matter what type of music you enjoy playing.
