Watch a demonstration of the Meinl String Cajon
The Ergo-Shape String Cajon combines the best in innovative German design with traditional cajon manufacturing.
The Bubinga wood frontplate is ergonomically curved to fit the shape of your hand, assisting in both comfort and projection during performances. Meinl also created a string mute system, which gives the drummer control and precision over sound and effects.
Beyond the handsome, red African wood frontplate is the string system, which creates the sizzle effect. The vibration of guitar strings within the body of the drum creates a crisp, dry sound, which can be adjusted using the integrated string mute system. Should you choose, you can disable the sizzle entirely.
For further customization of your string cajon's sound, the top corners of the drum are adjustable. For a strengthened crash sound, loosen the screws; for a milder sound, tighten them.
The Meinl Ergo-Shape String Cajon offers comfort at every turn. Beyond the innovative frontplate, the padded seat will make three hour long sessions feel like three minutes, and the rubber footing not only protect the underside of your hand drum, but ensures solid stability on any surface.
With the ease and comfort of the Erg-Shape String Cajon, you'll want to practice constantly, gaining the skill of cajon artists like Stephan Maas, Alejandro Sanz and Tyrone Wells.
