Watch a demonstration of the Meinl Ergo-Shape Pedal Cajon
The Ergo-Shape Pedal Cajon features some of the best design in Meinl cajon drums.
The German-made ergonomic curved frontplate follows the curve of your hand, making for greater comfort while playing, making you want to play for longer without sacrificing any of the style associated with traditional flamenco cajons. The German additions to this instrument in no way detract from its conventional Peruvian heritage; rather the new design makes the cajon more functional than ever before.
The resonating body, like many cajons, is made of rubber wood, while the frontplate is made of Bubinga, a rare and exotic African wood. The top corners of the cajon are also created with comfort in mind: with adjustable screws, you can make for easier performance and longer practice, allowing you to reach the ranks of cajon artists like Stephen Maass in no time. Additionally, these adjustable corners can change the sound of the crash effect, for varied sound options.
For a feature exclusive to Meinl cajon drums, the foot pedal allows you to change the effect of the snare while playing. While playing, you can even turn on or off the snare effect entirely, depending on your style and mood. This synergy of foot and hand creates a whole new realm of artistic expression with the variability offered.
Be ready for percussion with a quality you would expect of cajon-loving musicians like Norah Jones, the Violent Femmes or Eric Clapton, with the ergo-shape pedal cajon, one of the rising stars in contemporary musical instruments.
