These sound great when I strike them just right. They are a little less forgiving to strike placement than some others I've used. I really have to hit in he center of the clave to produce a loud sound but when I nail it they really sing! I can't complain for the price!

These sound very good. The ones I received appear to have two types of hardwood and sound different if you switch the striker. One is very bright when cupped in the hand and the other a little more subtle/deader.
