At the top end of all the Meinl Artisan Edition Cajons is the Seguiriya model. Designed for versatility in multiple types of music, this handsome birch wood cajon combines refined sound with an exotic and eye-catching canyon burl finish. But looks aren’t everything. That’s why this popular cajon also delivers a wide-ranging spectrum of musical notes with well-defined mid to high tones. Put the Seguiriya cajon to work right from the box and you’ll immediately appreciate its easy playability and impressive musicality.
Each of the cajon’s 16 vertical snare strings can be individually tuned using screws in the drum base so you always get the right sound for the right music. The internal sound port has an additional ring for enhanced tone compression as sound exits from the rear of the box. The sound hole is also covered with fine mesh to give you better results when placing a microphone at the back of your drum. Specially designed rubber feet prevent vibrations from transferring to the floor.
Solid, 11-ply birch wood construction optimizes stability and comfort, while the handsome wood inlay on top and warm canyon burl front plate add to the distinctive look of this artisan-crafted cajon. The strike plate receiving the bass strokes is reinforced with flat screws and washers for added strength and stability. Includes tuning key.
