In this lesson Michael Pluznick will explore how to play the shekere (aka sekere/chekere), the beaded gourd. This instrument was originally from Nigeria and re established itself in Cuba and then again in America.
Michael will show you how to hold the shekere properly, the basic concepts, moves and the foundation for playing this instrument.
Then we will move on to your first rhythm structure, a basic 4/4 pattern, very useful in many playing situations.
