This X8 Drums Fiberglass Shekere is made to look and sound like the traditional instrument, including the natural gourd shape and coloring. The fiberglass shell allows for added incredible durability without sacrificing the traditional tones of the percussion hand drum.

Originating in Africa, the Shekere is played by rapidly shaking and tossing the shell in the player's hand, generating its distinctive rattle sounds while hitting the bottom of the shell with the palm to create drum-like bass tones.
